Are You Setting an Example With Your Health?

I wish health for all my friends and family.

And I'm sure you wish the same for yours too.

It's hard to tell people you love to be healthier though, even as a coach.

Often, words don't mean a thing.

But our actions can speak volumes, and it's up to us to make sure they do.

If you're a parent (or imagine you are), saying one thing to your children, and then doing another could be detrimental.

The best way to teach them is to lead. If we can lead ourselves as best as we can, they will follow, and hopefully others will too.

But leading often requires you to know what to do yourself.

What does healthy mean? How can we better explain why we do the things we do, and why someone else should consider doing the same.

I teach clients the why. I teach clients the habits behind the diets, behind the stories we're told. I teach them how to make long term changes to their diets and lives.

All of this so that they too can lead by example, if not for the others in their lives, at least for themselves.

You can be told what to do with your training, nutrition and recovery if you like. Most people prefer that. Most people prefer to get the answers. As long as the results come.

But when things go pear shaped, and life is tough, and that person isn't there to tell you what to do, what is going to happen? Will you be able to maintain those results? Will you even have the motivation anymore?

I prefer to empower people, so that one day I'm not required anymore, and they can lead others too.
