For the Love of the Game

For the Love of the Game

When I started training years ago, the feeling it gave me became an addiction.

So much so, that I started to identify myself with it. Training defined me, and it stunted my own growth as a person.

I see people do it all the time. They say one of their loves is fitness, so they post about it, do it all the time, talk to others about it non-stop.

The same thing is happening to them as well - they've become obsessed.

Now people will say you need to be obsessed to get to the top. I agree with this somewhat, but it sets us up to crash and burn.

What happens if we don't reach the top? What happens if the thing we define ourselves isn't enough?

Instead, we need to do it for the love of the game.

Not for the end result, not for the accolades, not for the "views" and "likes", but for the game itself.

I learned that fitness and training helped me,, but it was the process itself which gave me the confidence and pride.

The work is the reward itself.

Until next time,

Marco
