What Will Motivate You to Train?

Have you ever wanted to lose weight, get fit and feel strong, but just can't find the motivation to do so?

This must be a common feeling for many people.

We know we should exercise, we have a desire to exercise and yet...

And yet, we always find a reason not to.

But not anymore. Now, we have all the incentives.

Shirts, prize packs, holidays and even cars.

Yep, if you can't find the motivation to do so, now we're giving you all the reasons to start exercising.

But is that the real reason you want to train?

The hope is that it will help you start. There's nothing wrong with winning a car for exercising. It's a pretty good idea actually.

But it doesn't get to the real reason as to why you want to start training.

It's also sells you very short as a person.

At the start of PEAK I ran a six week challenge, with the idea being that we would reward the winner.

But it set up a very odd challenge.

How is this measured? By weight lost, by body fat percentage? Or by effort and attendance?

All possible measures, but none of them are useful when everyone is starting at a different point.

(FYI attendance is the only real accurate and comparable measure).

And is that the type of person I wanted? Someone who was only going to train because they could win something?

I give my clients more credit than that.

So how do you get around the short term thinking that these prizes and challenges create?

Well here we connect your fitness goals to your life goals. There's no distinction between the two in fact.

We focus on long term goals as well using the Vision Casting process, which is all about setting goals that mean something to the individual.

It's no surprise then that clients here start changing their habits, plans and goals to make real long term change in alignment with their long term fitness goals.

For example Matt starting his Psychological Science Degree, Alaine starting a second business, Kellie starting her animal welfare course; all goals we've set as part of our fitness goals. The two go hand in hand.

Feel free to start training to win a car or holiday, but when you're ready to actually change your life, then comment below and we'll get started on the real work.
