A Tale of Extremes

A Tale of Extremes

Don't Let Your Assumptions Stop You From Becoming Healthy

"I don't want to bulk up"

"I don't want to look like those guys with the ripped six packs"

"I don't want to train 5 days a week"

These are many of the common extremes we go to in objection to making a commitment to training and exercise.

It's no surprise of course, because we are presented, most often, with extremes.

We see incredible before and afters. We see cover models. We see stunning beauties. And so we start to assume that anyone who does A, must end up looking like B.

And this blog is simply here to say: you're not special.

Don't get me wrong, you're an incredible person, and you can achieve great things, but to assume that you going to the gym will lead to you looking bulked, is far fetched.

Why? Because, if we look at the general population walking the streets days in, day out, they're not incredibly bulked. They're not really big, lean, strong.

But for some reason, we believe if we lift weights or train in the gym, we'll become one of the 1% (5% at a stretch) of people who achieve that.

I've seen people training in the gym for years, who I still wouldn't say are overly bulked, lean or strong. They may want to achieve those things, or maybe not. But despite their hard work, they still haven't got there.

Maybe, just maybe, you are one of those people who naturally end up looking like that from minimal work, but from a statistical point of view, it's unlikely.

So you have a choice: work really hard and long, with that being your sole focus and goal, to become like that one of those 1%, or work really hard and long to become healthy, look good, feel good, and become more proud.

Or do nothing because you're convinced you're a unicorn.

It's easy to be drawn to (or pushed away by) the extremes, when in reality, you're likely to simply become above average, which is exactly what you need.

Until next time,

Marco
