One Simple Tip for Fat Loss

Why You Should Do The Simplest Exercise to Get Results

By Marco Augusto

Fat loss is the goal for many people who begin their fitness journey.

And it's not an easy goal.

We're often short on time, and it's becoming easier to eat more and more calories.

And with the huge amounts of information (like this blog), it can all be a bit confusing and overwhelming.

So what many people end up doing is nothing, or starting and quitting until next time.

It doesn't have to be that confusing or difficult though.

One of the simplest ways to start the process is by doing the simplest thing you can do repeatedly.

We usually go to the opposite end to solve the problem: we try to change everything all at once.

For many of us, that becomes so overwhelming that they end up doing nothing.

No, a better and more sustainable solution is to do the simplest thing, and then building on this.

In a way it's the story of the tortoise and the hare.

So what is the simplest thing we can do with our health and fitness? Going for a walk.

More specifically, walking first thing in the morning.

Often in the fitness industry, this is called "fasted cardio", and some people absolutely believe it works.

Fasted cardio is simply a cardio training session that is done while you're still in a fasted state after waking up.

I don't buy into the thinking that it works because you haven't eaten.

It works because you're using more calories during the day.

But for me it works because of it's simplicity.

No warm up is required.

No travelling to another location is required.

Everyone (who is able to walk) can do it.

And by doing it first thing in the morning, you move towards your goal as a priority everyday.

It also highlights if you're not willing to do the work; if waking up 30 minutes earlier to go for a walk each day is too hard, then you're simply not going to achieve your goal.

The harsh truth is that if you can't do the simplest thing, you definitely can't do the more complicated things.

I've personally found a adding some extra weight, by using a weights vest, can add progression and difficulty to your walk, without necessarily adding more time to your walk.

It may not seem like it's going to do a lot because you don't get as sweaty or you don't feel you're pushing as hard as you can.

But by walking everyday, you can be consistent and this is the best way to get long term results in your weight loss journey.

Until next time,

Marco
