Catch Actions, Not Feelings
Catch Actions, Not Feelings
How often do you feel like going to work?
I mean you're really keen to go to work?
I imagine for many people, they wouldn't feel like that too often.
And yet, each day plenty of people go to work, smile, get through the day, do the best they can, and then go home.
There is a reward of course - money.
But if you just went off your feelings, then you wouldn't go to work plenty of days, and so you wouldn't get paid.
You do it no matter what you feel like.
And so, we come to the issue of exercise.
You don't feel like training. You don't feel motivated.
But every day you do things when you don't feel like it.
The feeling isn't the thing you listen to.
You take actions despite your feelings.
You probably do it every day.
You don't always scream when you're angry.
You don't always frown when you feel sad.
You don't always smile because you feel happy.
And so our actions have almost nothing to do with our feelings.
Getting fit and healthy requires action, not a feeling of motivation.
And interestingly, action almost always changes the way we feel.
We can get into the details of training and exercise - how often, what program, how many calories etc.
But the foundation behind all of those things is action.
Stop following your feelings when it comes to your health, and simply start taking action.
Until next time,
Marco
