Consumers and Spectators

Consumers and Spectators

Take Personal Responsibility for Your Health

I want to get fired.

I hope that each and everyone of my clients, one day fires me.

Why?

Because while I do believe everyone should have a coach, I also believe at a certain point I will teach each of my clients enough to either do it themselves, or need another better coach who can take them even further.

I believe in what I do, but I'm also realistic.

It's just training.

Yes, this training can 100% change your life, just like it did for me.

But the physical aspect of the training, the actual moving of the weights, is a fairly simple process.

With everything going on in our lives though, it can be hard to take responsibility for everything.

So we end up becoming consumers and spectators.

Buying solutions we think we need (no the latest iPhone is not the solution) and just watching everything happening, feeling helpless.

And so we go to our training and get told what to do, outsourcing our results.

This isn't a bad idea after all - coaches are the experts in this area.

But it also means we are forever waiting on someone else for those results.

With my clients, I am truly trying to teach them how to do it themselves.

This doesn't mean me or another coach won't be required along the way.

But it also shifts their mindset from simply being told what to do, to understanding and taking responsibility.

It also becomes a lot more collaborative between the two of us.

And it also means clients have a bit more skin in the game.

Not longer simply a consumer, but a big part of the team, with the aim to have control of their health for the rest of their life.

And inspiring others to do the same.

There's nothing wrong with being a consumer or spectator when it comes to training and your health.

Just understand that being on the field leads to the greatest chances of success.

Until next time,

Marco
