I Didn't Win the Lottery

I Didn't Win the Lottery

You Don't Need Luck to Improve Your Health

There's a good chance you didn't win the lottery.

Not the actual lottery, although your chances of winning that are fairly slim indeed.

No, I mean the life lottery.

And when it comes to your health and fitness, that's likely the case as well.

Maybe you're not one of the beautiful people.

Maybe losing weight for you doesn't come easily.

Maybe adding muscle doesn't come easily.

Maybe you just don't have the things that the lucky people have.

I personally am lucky, in a way.

I have always been slim, so that obviously has it's benefits.

But I don't easily add muscle.

And I went through depression, which doesn't sound like luck, but is the direct reason I can be so consistent with training.

But there's a good chance you're not so lucky.

So what do you do?

Is it a matter of just throwing your hands up and saying "this isn't for me".

The truth is that most people just aren't very good at a lot of things.

But they can be.

And so can you.

The difficulty of a task does not mean the task shouldn't be done.

And when it comes to your health, it definitely should be done.

You can curse the sky and wonder why it's so hard.

Or just realise that most people do not win the lottery.

You can use that as an excuse, which is fine.

But if that's the case, then the problem isn't a problem - you have a clear reason why you can't solve it.

Or, like everything else you've achieved in life, just do the work over and over.

Consistently improving in small steps.

Maybe never achieving expert status, but becoming much better than when you started.

And that requires no luck whatsoever.

Until next time,

Marco
