Redefining Courage
Redefining Courage
Even Small Actions Sometimes Require Courage
"Courage doesn't always involve physical heroism in the face of death. It doesn't always require giant leaps worthy of celebration. Sometimes, courage is the willingness to speak the truth about what you see and to own what you say" - Seth Godin
And to that I would add, courage is sometimes doing something which is difficult to you, but seems easy to someone else.
Sometimes it's just showing up and trying.
And sometimes it's the smallest act of courage that can change our lives.
When it comes to your health and fitness, it can be the simple act of starting.
Contacting that PT or coach.
Walking into the gym.
Going to the dietician.
Throwing out that food.
Admitting to yourself something needs to change.
Because change can be difficult and scary.
It does induce fear in many of us often.
And being courageous in the face of that fear, is exactly what we need.
For someone like me to walk into a new gym, there's no problem.
But my story might be different to yours.
And yours different to the next person.
And so I understand the process of training or getting healthy in some way can be difficult for many people.
Courage, truly is required.
And I know you can do it if you need to do it.
And although you might not be saving someone or be facing immediate dangers.
You might very well be saving yourself.
And that takes courage.
Until next time,
Marco
