Small Things You Can Do To Improve Your Health

How Complication is Keeping You From Seeing Results

If someone were to ask me one way I would recommend to improve their health, I would probably suggest something as simple as 8 hours sleep, at a consistent time.

And truly, this would make a real difference for many people.

But it's not exactly pleasurable, and it doesn't seem complicated enough.

And here lies a bit of a clue as to why many people don't get results.

Firstly, we want the answer to provide pleasure. We want it to feel good and instant. And we probably want it yesterday. But many of the things that actually make a difference, take a long time, and are really pretty boring. Some will provide that pleasure, but most actually don't.

Secondly, we imagine that there must be a secret to it. A complicated one, because otherwise, surely we would have found it right?

But, as above, the secret is in the simplicity, over a long time.

Catch yourself when you start looking for results in anything less that 12 weeks, or when you try to add complication or overthink it.

Simple. Consistent. Over a long time. All small things, added together, to achieve big results.

Here's a list of small things you could do to improve your health; pick one, stick to it for 3 months:

  • Consistent sleep times

  • 8 Hours of sleep/day

  • At least 2 liters of water/day

  • High protein diet

  • Follow a progressive overload training program, twice/week

  • Walk at least 20 minutes a day

  • Stretch at least 15 minutes

  • Eat each meal to 80% full

  • Eat slowly

Until next time,

Marco
