The Cool Kids
The Cool Kids
Trying to Fit In with the Cool Fitness Kids, Might Mean Not Getting Results
Do you remember back in high school when everyone wanted to be part of the cool kid group?
High school is such a hard time for teens, with so much going on, they also are trying to work out status.
You see, being part of the cool kid group elevated you in a way.
If you were in the group, you were seen to have something others wanted.
And if you weren't, then you were the one wanting.
Things aren't massively different as we get older.
Status still plays a massive part.
We still want to be cool.
But there's also the feeling for many people of not really giving a shit of what others think (although we always do in a small way).
Those who can get out of the status race, always seem happier.
It's the same in fitness as well.
We join big group and fitness classes.
Why?
Well because it's big, so it must be good right?
There must be where all the cool kids go.
That business with the cool logos and colours are the best without doubt.
But you need to proceed with caution.
What is more important - looking cool or getting results?
Is it better to wear the logo so you're associated with them?
Or is it better to actually get healthy, get lean, lose the weight, gain the muscle and feel confident the way you know you should?
Neither answer is right as such.
It's only what's right for you.
But beware trying to fit in with the cool kids, because being like them might mean never being like you.
Until next time,
Marco
