Addicted to Pleasure

It's easy to become addicted to pleasure.

Drinking, smoking, masturbation, sex, Netflix, Facebook, shopping...all of these things can bring instant satisfaction. It makes us feel good, but that feeling doesn't last too long.

And so we feel the need to do them again as soon as possible to feel that pleasure, and so on until they can easily become addictions.

This instant gratification is what we have to combat daily, because the things that are actually good for us, don't bring that immediate pleasure, or they require us to almost 'suffer' before we feel that pleasure.

This is why it's so hard to change our habits when it comes to our health.

The things that feel really good, are most often the things doing long term damage to us, and the things that feel really hard, are actually the things that will help us the most; they are also the things that will make us feel better in the long term as well.

As hard as it is to think this way, try to consider the long term when it comes to decisions with your health.

Try to say no to that short term pleasure more often than not to make changes to your health.
