Knee Deep In...

Knee Deep In...

Yesterday I wrote about how I had a bit of a shitty training session, and how this happens to us now and then in training, relationships, work and life.

But, we can choose to develop resilience for when those days come  - and they will come.

But how do we do that? How do we develop the mental strength to resist the negative, and almost look forward to it?

By choosing purposeful suffering.

This sounds intense, but really it's simple.

You choose to do something difficult, something that will test you, in order to make you better.

There are plenty of ways we can do this, but the best is still through training and exercise.

You choose to get to a really uncomfortable place (come on, with all that sweat, aches in your body, grasping for air - it's just plain evil), but in the long term it makes you better.

Isn't that a life lesson right there: go through shit to come out the other side better.

We can wait for the shit to hit, or we can choose to dive straight in anticipation.

Until next time,

Marco
