Only Potential

Only Potential

A prospect comes to me looking for help.

Our first contact is a meeting only. No training, no testing, simply a discussion.

I want to know what they want to achieve and why? I want to know their story. I want to know their history.

But most of it doesn't really change my approach.

Sure, we need to take a few things into account, but for me I see someone with potential.

If they've never trained, I see maximum potential, even if from experience I know it will take time.

When someone hasn't trained for a while but used to play sports, I also see potential, and probably know progress can be made quicker.

But at no point do I think "this person can't do this".

Quite the opposite. I will work until I find what they can do. And I always find what they can do.

This is because everyone has potential for something more. This isn't some motivational poster. I understand some people may actually come very very close to achieving their potential in something. But I also know they are a complete beginner in another area of their life.

I know this because I see it all the time. I lived it myself.

But you may have convinced yourself you can't do something or you won't fit in for whatever reason.

Just know that your potential is always there.

You just need to have the courage to say yes for once and explore how far you can go with yours.

Until next time,

Marco
