Well That Sucks
Well That Sucks
You Have to Commit, Even if It's Not Always Good
I was talking to my former business partner and great friend Nick recently on our usual catch up walks.
We talk about everything from business, relationships, training, life and everything in between.
And on this day, we got onto the topic of writing.
I've decided to put myself on the hook and write each day.
What I mean, is I've made a commitment to myself to write daily, no matter what.
Now, I'm not particularly proud of my writing.
I don't think it's good, but equally, it's not bad.
And when you make the commitment to write everyday, you're bound to get some pretty poor writing.
And each of these I'll post - unless it's completely useless.
But it reminded me of training in a lot of ways.
Because we can easily think that training will be great each day.
Or that we'll just keep improving every session, in strength, fitness, leanness or any other measure.
But the truth is, a lot of the time, it sucks.
A lot of the time, there are no improvements, or we improve only a little.
A lot of the time, it's just not as good as we want.
And just like my commitment to writing, you need to make the commitment to.
To show up, do your best, and expect that some are winners, and some are losers.
And that's okay.
So put yourself on the hook as well with the knowledge it will take time.
And even when you think you're good, there will always be times when it sucks.
Until next time,
Marco
