Training Isn't About Physical Results
Actually, training is about results, to some degree.
But probably not for you.
Yes, you wanted to lose weight and get stronger, but the training you're doing won't get you those results.
More than likely, training is more about feeling good for you.
A sense of achievement and pride.
Reducing stress.
Feeling more confident.
Sometimes doing it in a community, or maybe just doing it for yourself.
But results aren't going to be a big part of that.
And that's okay.
In fact, training to feel good is what training should be about.
It's what we need to change to story to.
Really, training is more about mental health than physical.
And if we can accept that training is really about feeling good, than we can do it for a long time.
And when we do it for a long time, we're much more likely to get results.
Now, where we often go wrong, is we focus on the results too much.
Even as an industry, we're selling you results.
Guarantees and promises wrapped up in 30 to 60 day challenges.
And then we proceed to give you that same training and diet that won't get you results.
So for you, a change in mindset would help a lot.
Think to yourself "I'm doing this to feel good about myself".
There's not attachment to results.
And if you can do that consistently for a long time, you'll actually get results.
If you're someone who wants to feel good and get results, here's a bit of a guide.
Don't do any training which is always in a circuit.
Don't do any training which is always "high intensity".
Do the training your coach does (which likely isn't any of the above), because they'll get results for themselves.
So actually, training can be about results, as long as you're doing the right training.
