Health Doesn't Require Luck
Health Doesn't Require Luck
Your Health is Completely in Your Control
It's easy to get caught in the mindset of "I'm not lucky".
We can here about people winning things and wonder why that never happens to us.
And that mindset can start to make it's way into the rest of our life, including our health.
Sometimes we say "I don't have good genetics".
It's a way to excuse ourselves from putting in the effort required.
Now, I'm not suggesting genetics don't play a part.
But saying "I can't do that because I don't have good genetics" suggests that somehow luck is involved.
And it suggests that achieving results means for one person to win, others have to lose.
But there are no winners when it comes to health.
There is no game with a final siren being played.
There is no draw being run on Tuesday where there can be only 1 winner.
Me being healthy doesn't take away from you being healthy.
Yes, you might have to work harder than another person to achieve equivalent results.
But that's about effort, not luck.
And that happens in all areas of life.
Is everyone just so much luckier than us?
The truth is, health is a skill.
We can learn the habits required to be healthy.
We can invest resources into it, including time and money, and become better at it in the way that works for us.
And when we commit to it long enough, we can actually become an expert on it for ourselves and others.
The amount of effort you need to put in to become healthy may be more than someone else, but effort is something you have complete control over.
No luck required.
Until next time,
Marco
