I Go to Work Because I Feel Like It

Stop Using a Lack of Motivation as an Excuse

"I go to work because I feel like it".

Imagine if that was actually true.

People would be missing from the workplace (or the Zoom call) all the time.

But you don't go to work because you feel like it.

You go to work because you made a commitment.

And because you made that commitment, you get paid.

"I need your services, and you need money to buy things and pay for other services. Let's trade".

It's not "I need your services, but turn up whenever you feel like it, and I'll pay you no matter what".

And so you turn up to work when you don't feel like it.

You're a professional, and that's what professionals do.

Projects aren't put on hold because you're not feeling it today.

The waiting list for surgery doesn't keep getting longer and longer because the Doctor doesn't feel like it.

No, we show up and we do the job (unless we're genuinely sick).

And yet...

You won't show up to training because you don't feel like it.

You're not feeling motivated you tell yourself and us.

I understand, you're not getting paid to show up.

But we don't always trade time for money either.

In this case, we're trading time for health.

But for some reason, you don't feel like it or can't find the motivation.

Trust me, you show up on a regular basis when you don't feel like it - to work.

You do it because you're a professional.

You did it because you made a commitment.

So maybe it's time you made that same commitment to yourself.

Another way to make a commitment to your health, is to make a commitment to someone else financially.

This is why having a coach can be so beneficial.

You're paying for services, which you feel obligated to get the most from, and you're also making a commitment to another person to show up and do your best for yourself.

So if you want to start, start with a coach.

And of course, I always have space available for clients. Find out how you can be part of the PEAK family here.

Until next time,

Marco
