Understood, Respected and Missed When You're Gone

Don't Be Just Another Number in an Ever Growing Group Class


When group fitness classes get bigger and bigger, how does it make you feel?

Often we get a sense of community when we're in big groups sharing a difficult time.

And fitness in general has become one of the great ways to become part of a community.

But just like we wonder what kind of attention our child is getting when they're one of thirty children, I wonder how much attention you're getting when you're one of thirty people in a group class.

Group classes are the way to go right?

Many people can be trained at once, achieving more results.

But most people don't achieve results (statistically, you're unlikely to achieve results doing the same thing as everyone else).

So while the community is fantastic (it really is), you as an individual will probably get left behind.

But it's okay, because if you quit, there's another person to jump into the meat grinder to fill your spot.

My process is a little different.

Less people, more attention to the individual.

More care.

More understanding.

More respect.

And when you're gone, trust me, I notice it.

Understood, respected and missed when you're gone.

Of course, this has nothing to do with your fitness.

But wouldn't it be nice to feel those things from your coach, or any other person in fact?

Wouldn't that make you want to stay and push through?

The human connection helping you through the difficulty of it all.

I fully understand the benefit of big group classes.

And from a business model, it makes perfect sense.

But what you need might be a little different.

And it's possible that you're not just a number.

And it's possible someone will miss you when you're gone.
