Not Even Once?
Not Even Once?
Better Health Requires Small Improvements
It's easy to give the excuse "I can't do that".
It's a safe response that keeps us out of potential danger.
Why put yourself out there and potentially fail?
This is in all things in life, but it's equally true for health and fitness.
Of course you can't run a marathon - yet.
Of course you can't do a 100kg squat - yet.
Of course you can't do 5 push ups - yet.
But when you say you can't do that, you're referring to the end product.
The finished and polished Instagram video you're looking at.
But let's step back to where you're starting from.
Are you saying you haven't started something, and improved at it?
Not even once?
It's easy to compare to the finished product, as if that's what everyone has to achieve.
But it means we get ahead of ourselves.
And it means we skip the most important part - the start.
And health and fitness isn't about the finished product.
Because there is no finished product.
There is no exact way you should look or feel.
It's simply a process of making small improvements over a long period of time.
So when you say you can't do that, I say you're wrong.
At least once, you've tried something new and kept doing it until you were competent.
At least once you've improved at something.
And just like before, you can do it again.
Sure, use the end product as a guide and aim.
But focus on the small improvements day to day.
Until next time,
Marco
