The Tools Don't Matter

The Tools Don't Matter

Focus On The Work

Kettlebells or dumbbells?

Functional training versus bodybuilding?

This gym or that gym?

Rock music or dance music?

High intensity or low intensity?

It's natural to consider these things when it comes to your training.

They can make the difference after all.

However, when we look to answer these questions, we skip a step.

The most important step - the work.

So often we get caught up in details and miss the point.

Turn up, and do the work over and over again.

I've had people say to me they don't like training with that type of music.

That's fine, I appreciate that, but that doesn't mean you can't do the work to the best of your ability.

Sometimes it's the location, like some particular gyms are magical.

If it has enough equipment, trust me you can get the results you seek.

In fact, just a barbell and weight plates will do.

And this is where we get caught up.

Needing perfect conditions to do what we need to do.

We need to be more resilient than that.

So no, the tools don't matter.

At least they don't matter if the intent is wrong.

Get the intent and motivation and focus right, and then you can maybe start thinking about the tools to use.

Until next time,

Marco
